In the dirt

The worms are in the dirt.
In the sensory table.
They are in there.
Still.
We put them there the other day.
And they didn't die!
It is amazing.
They are alive still.
We thought they died, but they didn't.

Light Panel and Popsicles

Barbara made a house using popsicles.

Christian used popsicles of two colors to make new colors. 

Then Christian used the popsicles to make a shape.

Leah made an xylophone.

Then she played it for me.

Eggs

We had eggs.
We hunted them.
That means we found them.
There were lots of them.
We put them together, in one bucket.
Then we took some in our class.
We got to take them home.

Tee pee

On Saturday, Mr. Kyle and Mrs. Voigt came to school.

Mr. Kyle made us a tee pee.

It is big.
Even Mr. Kyle can fit inside.

We got to go inside too.

We can read and build and play and sleep.

Well, not really, but we can pretend to sleep.

Just like the people who live in a tee pee.

They would sleep and eat and play and talk and watch tv if they had one.

They are Indians.

Like Cherokee Indians.

I made it purple green purple green.
It is a pattern.
It is my name sentence.

Bugs

We did bugs.
Spiders, grasshoppers, bees, lady bugs.
We sorted them.

Mixing colors

We mixed the colors.
The water was different colors.
And then we used the shot things to mix it.
You know, like you're getting a shot at the doctor.
I made purple.
I made green.
I made pink.
I made yellow too, it was lighter yellow than the other yellow.
I used the shot dropper to move the water.
At the end all the water was green.
I don't know why.
All of the cups.
They were all green.
No other color, just green.

Barn

We made this.
It is a barn.
It is where the animals live.
Today, we made it.
With friends.
We have a new friend.
Just today, she came.
Her name is Ganea.
That is like Gregory's name.

Paint

Barbara painted.
She used red, blue, and green paint.
She painted lines, circles, and even some letters.

 

Art

Barbara really likes art. Today she made a collage, a bracelet, and then found three triangles, which she tapped to paper.
On Friday, she made a collage with some friends using leaves, pom poms, paint, wiggly eyes, plastic cut outs, and other fun things.
Barbara spends most of her day in art. She creates a lot of really neat things.

New Year, New Friends

Today was our first day with all our new friends at school.
This week, we had four days of staggared start, only having a few friends each day, until today.
On Monday, we met Josiah, Jarod, and Christian.
On Tuesday, we met Barbara, Jazmin, and Laisha.
On Wednesday, we met Alex, Eduardo, and Erik.
On Thursday, we met Leah and Jayden.
Each day, we learned about our school day, learned about how our classroom worked, and spent a lot of time getting to know each other.

Today, we all were here. All eleven friends and two teachers.
We all worked in centers.

We all learned about group time.

We all learned about our friends Suzy Circle, Rosie Red, and Barbara Blue. We all met "Baby" Gregory (He isn't really a baby any more). We said "Hello" to all of them. We learned that we are all in Pre-K, but one day we are going to go to college. We learned about the calendar. We figured out what the weather was. We learned new songs and dances. We tossed the ball and tried to remember our friends' names.

We learned about fire drills, and practiced a fire drill.
We went outside. We learned about our playground rules.
We read about little Llama. He went to school, too. He missed his Mama.
We had lunch.
We washed our hands, a lot.
We took a rest.
We had a great day!
